Busy times! Planning the RFL of SL Art Faire…guests in RL…etc.!

We’ve been soooo busy lately in RL; visitors from everywhere have suddenly converged as winter in the US begins to fade – especially in the warmer climes. This has been magical, as we have seen family and friends gather who have not done so in some time. This all happened, more or less, out of the “wild blue,” and we have been both overwhelmed and thrilled! They are all wonderful people, so it’s been relatively easy, although very, very busy! One of the most fun things about it all is that we have brought so many of them into SL to enjoy it with us. They are  – for the most part – quite taken with Ce Soir Arts and with all the things one can do in SL (and some of THAT will be the subject of a future post!)…

In the meantime, Aeon and I have also been busy preparing for the RELAY FOR LIFE OF SL ART FAIRE, which for 2013 will take place from 01 – 15 April at The Conservatory at Ce Soir Arts. We are honoured to be hosting this very special event and we do hope you will all come round to enjoy the art, music, poetry, and other entertainment we have planned throughout the 15 days. The art alone makes it worth the trip in – and you will wander The Conservatory and its wintry environs, amazed at the beauty and scope of the art that is being donated to the RFL OF SL cause. Such glorious art! I won’t say more now, but look for an official announcement at this blog and in SL very soon about the exciting and important fundraising event of the SL MUSIC RACES FOR A CURE TEAM – and, indeed, of all the teams working together in SL for the support of the work of the American Cancer Society. This is good work, and we are privileged to take part.

Have a lovely weekend – in all the worlds there are – and we will see you at Ce Soir Arts soon! The lovely work of Xirana Oximoxi graces the Guest Gallery and The Conservator at Ce Soir Arts through March. Read on…

Winter Moods at Ce Soir Arts - Xirana 2

We are pleased to present the work of Catalan artist Xirana Oximoxi at Ce Soir Arts. Interested in and exploring a range of artistic media and genres, Xirana offers us tender portraits of life in landscapes rich with beauty. At The Conservatory at Ce Soir, see the verdant hills and sweet flowers, step back to enjoy the lively cityscapes that invite you in with their vibrant colours. Take some time there, and be taken by the line drawings of musicians so lost in their music that viewing them evokes such a sense of presence that you can almost hear the strains of the violin… The Conservatory at Ce Soir Arts:

At The Ce Soir Arts Guest Gallery on the main level at Ce SoirXirana‘s Winter Moods draw you; feel the chill of winter, even as you are filled with the warmth of the beauty of nature. Expressionistic in both realistic and modernistic views, these scenes are alive with the freshness of winter. Clean and clear, it is as if the air in the gallery has been charged with the bracing winds of winter. You will be engaged by the totality and voice of each piece, as Xirana’s flawless brushwork and deftness with layering create a vivid experience for you. Guest Gallery entrance:

Outside the Guest GalleryXirana has placed remarkable sculptural works. All are expressive of the experience of life and the seeking of balance and truth; you will enjoy them, and do read the informational notecards that accompany them. Stay with these pieces awhile and enjoy their message as well as their presentation.

Xirana is unquestionably a gifted and expressive artist whose work brings joy and the opportunity to explore her vision. From her Artist’s Statement, she tells us, “She wishes to create an art based on her experience of nature, an art that expresses a personal sense of beauty, an art that embodies craft of the highest order, an art that uses subjects both from the outside world and from the world of heart.”
