Something special at the Ce Soir Arts Gallery through the end of August…

Since we are on vacation, you’re stuck with me here at the blog. I know…I’m not nearly as prolific or interesting as Mireille, but…bear with me!

Something good is going on at the Ce Soir Arts Gallery. Mireille is an artist and writer. She does not share this information often, nor has she – in our 18 months of venue/gallery ownership – had an exhibit of her own. She so enjoys working with others to show their work in a way that pleases them, to encourage their continued explorations, to watch others enjoy the expressive vision of an artist or poet. And she’s very good at that; it brings her joy. She and her niece also work closely together and it is a joy for all of us in the family to see what the two of them cook up together. You should have seen that wedding, for one thing. That was really something special.

So…let me return to the topic at hand. We’re on this vacation, and I casually mention to M that the gallery is empty.  She knew that, of course, as it was planned. “I have something special coming up in September,” she assured me. And yes, she does! One of our faves is returning with some new works to share. It’s exciting, and we know you will enjoy that exhibit! (Mums the word, for now, though.)

I am known as a pretty persuasive guy – sometimes. And look what I did! I talked Mireille into exhibiting some of her “Words & Pictures” at the Ce Soir Arts Gallery! She has several themes in her artistic arsenal – with some wild photos and great illustrative poems to go with (or vice-versa). But she also has some quiet, sweet, and less ponderous work to share, and so that’s what she has chosen to do for her first venture. She reminded me that she’s “just learning” about SL photography, but I think she’s got something going there already. Visit the Ce Soir Arts Gallery where – just until the end of August – you can enjoy a sampling of her lighter photos and verse. I can’t wait until she shares some of that darker art of hers, but I love what she’s sharing now (even the photos with me in them are great). Go check it out and you’ll see what I mean.

Speaking of art…

Speaking of art…have you seen The Chromatic Diaries machinima by Anim8tor Cathy and company (the undisclosed studio)? If you’ve not, you’re really missing out on something special. Mireille found it through Honour McMillan‘s great blog. Do click on over to one of those sites and see this wonderful piece of cinematography; it’s beautiful. It’s in memory of a friend who has passed, and it is a tender and lovely tribute. It will move you with its theme and delight you with its professionalism. Well worth your time, my friends.
