Well, it’s Monday, and Strawberry Singh is at it again – this time with a meme that really got my attention: It’s My Birthday Meme! Of course, this all started because Sunday was Berry‘s birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Berry!). That would probably be enough to get me interested, but……..since MY birthday is coming up, I was, well, extra interested! Mireille Jenvieve-Woodford giggles!

Here’s the lowdown…

1. When is your birthday? – 29 September (the year is never-you-mind!)
2. Pick one person who shares your birthday and share what you know about them. – Greer Garson shares my birthday, although she was born many years before me. She was a beautiful woman with lovely theatrical talents and I have seen many of her films and I enjoyed each one including the original Goodbye Mr. Chips. Sweet and with a fine sense of humour, I hope I am a bit like her. Also sharing a 29 September birthdate is an American classic: famed singing cowboy Gene Autry. He was always acting on the side of good, so I hope I am a bit like him too.
3. List one notable event that took place on your birthday. – In 1947 (also some years before my birth), Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and Charlie Parker made their debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Now, that surely was some concert! Wow!
   
4. Tell us about a holiday that falls on your birthday. – We celebrate Confucius Day on September 29. Confucius was one of the earliest recognised philosophers, and perhaps the the first great philosopher. He was also a teacher, a scholar, and a politician. He gave the world many teachings, and 499 sayings that are oft quoted as wise. In addition, it’s Coffee AND Mocha Day (yaya!), and the feast day of St. Michael the Archangel. Michaelmas is a very special day to honour the leader of heaven’s armies. (It’s also Poisoned Blackberries Day, but let’s not go there, OK?)
