The Valentine’s Day frenzy is over. And did we learn a lot! NOTE: THAT is an understatement to beat the band, but it’s all good and we are looking forward to today with great anticipation. First, however, we wish to thank a few special people for their lovely participation in yesterday’s festivities at Ce Soir. First, we thank the inimitable Russell Eponym, whose sensitive readings of some of the sweetest love poetry ever written was sheer joy for us. Everyone gathered at The Magic Tree Reading Spot at Ce Soir was enthralled, and it truly put us in the Valentine’s Day mood…ah, love! Thank you, Russell! Next, PM Bookmite had to reschedule but his show at 7 PM SLT was a sweet surprise as we took a deeper look into his beautiful work of words and music. We wish to thank him for that AND congratulate him on his award of a year abroad to study writing in Europe. We can think of no one we would rather see take such a journey, and we wish him well. He’ll still be joining us for his every-other-week shows (and perhaps, more often!), and we do hope you’ll come along and enjoy this very talented musician and his music. We also thank Christopher135 Quan, whose show was so deeply romantic and beautiful as to bring tears to our eyes. Those who gathered clearly enjoyed his lovely voice and piano music; it lifted us aloft as he played and sang. It was a real treat, as always, for his shows are special every time. Besides, we got to say hello to Christopher‘s mother, who had joined him in his streaming studio for the occasion. How sweet it that?! Wonderful! Look for him to return to the Ce Soir stage often, also.
Now, on to today! We have two shows, back-to-back, that are crowd-pleasers every single time!

JordanReyne Deezul in at 2 PM SLT. An outstanding musician with many awards to her credit, this New Zealander is a favourite at Ce Soir. Her mix of dark electronica, folk noir, and industrial influences is mesmerising; indeed, steam, metal-on-metal and other factory sounds are part of her musical landscape. Ethereal Celtic melodies sung in a captivating voice with an impressive, expressive range weave themselves over and through a rhythmic base of sound that will take your attention. Come experience JordanReyne as she fills the hour with musical magic. You can feel the audience respond at the opening notes of several of her most favoured pieces, and each song is a unique gem. Her understanding of the social impact of the Industrial Revolution is clear – as is her musicianship. Industrial-folk at its finest is redefined by this inventive and talented artist; you’ll be looking for her name in the schedule after one performance. We count ourselves fortunate indeed to have her singing regularly at Ce Soir and hope you will join us for another entrancing hour with JordanReyne Deezul.

Immediately following at 3 PM SLT, the inimitable Russell Eponym takes the stage once more to delight us with his enchanting ”Folk, blues, and beyond.” This 100% acoustic, completely unplugged music is the signature of The Music Whisperer and we are always happy to hear it at Ce Soir. Russell is warm and inviting, and his music is the same. You will find yourself dancing or simply enjoying his set, your ear trained on his velvety voice. Whether he is plucking the strings of sweet “Martina,” his trusty Martin acoustic, or playing any of his other instruments (we admit to being a bit partial to “Monica,” the harmonica!), Russell’s sound is a true musical pleasure. His covers are well-chosen, his lovely originals the highlight of his performance. Come join us and enjoy as the Eponymous Family gathers. You’re invited and you don’t want to miss it!
See you at Ce Soir!
