We had a glorious Tuesday, this week at The Magic Tree Reading Spot. First, of course, Poet Laureate Russell Eponym settled in for a lovely hour of the spoken word and more outstanding music from another record-shop find! As you know, Russell is known for scouring all sorts of book and music shoppes, and he shares the delight of his finds with us at The Magic Tree. We’ve been treated to the sounds of so many fine musicians as Russell has introduced them to us during this weekly hour of wisdom and wonder. When you get a chance, click HERE to check out Lord Huron, one of many we’ve been enjoying!
The readings are exquisite, of course, and include glorious poetry from wordsmiths such as Keats, Eliot, Frost, Thomas, and others from various points in history. We enjoy the humour of Roald Dahl and the delightful Pam Ayres as well. Of late, the continuing saga of our friends from The Magic Faraway Tree Series by Enid Blyton has our attention. It is quite an adventure, as we follow Silky, MoonFace, Saucepan, and all the rest as they travel from land to land. We love to go along and always enjoy their discoveries (and misadventures!). They have such a time in The Land of Goodies, The Land of Toys, and (my favourite) The Land of Do-As-You-Please!

We do have fun and learn as well when Russell is at The Magic Tree. His Thoughts for the Day are always wonderful, providing a lift to the spirits as well as an idea or two to consider. We’ve even helped Russell write a new song! It hasn’t a name just yet, but he has been playing it and everyone is enjoying it immensely. Come join us for his musical show on Thursdays at 2 PM at Le Château Ce Soir as well as on Tuesdays at The Magic Tree. We always have a wonderful time whenever the Poet Laureate is here!

Come enjoy next Tuesday – NOON SLT. Click HERE for your teleport!
